South Dakotans are speaking up about the budget plans in Pierre, and lawmakers say they're being heard.
Republican Senator Shantel Krebs says legislators are listening closely to the ideas and concerns of constituents.
"Via email, via phone call, conversations. They will bring ideas. I've had many a constituent say, well have you thought about this? That idea that may come from a constitutent, we take that to our working subgroup meetings, so very idea, every phone call we hear about, we take those back and we share with the concerns and the thoughts, and we vet through them," Krebs says.
Krebs says lawmakers also check in with lobbyists representing various interests to explore how constituent ideas could impact different organizations in South Dakota.
