By Kealey Bultena The House Minority leader says students’ voices are being heard in Pierre. Democratic Representative Bernie Hunhoff says he learned from the college students that came to the statehouse this week. Hunhoff says, “I thought it was the best hour of the whole legislative session, and I was there for about an hour. College students were great. They give you great faith in the future of South Dakota. They were smart, they were prepared, they knew what was going on out here and they challenged us. And many of them prefaced their remarks by saying, I’m a Republican and I come from a Republican family, but this is going to hurt me and it’s going to hurt my family, and they had really powerful stories to tell.”Hunhoff says lawmakers would have different policies if they had conversations like the one with college students everyday of the session.
