Continuous Examination Committee

The state's House Majority Leader wants a committee to examine initiatives throughout the year. Representative David Lust discussed the proposal in Friday's Republican Press Conference. He is proposing a standing committee for long term legislative planning. Lust says some issues are chronic to the legislature. He says the committee would take on issues, and continuously examine matters after the legislative session. The representative says it will shape discussions and the legislative agenda.
"One thing that's concerned me since I've been in the legislature is that we're somewhat of at a disadvantage to the executive branch who has full time staff. They're here year round. They have a better opportunity to look long term and address long term issues and concerns, and I think that's been lacking on the legislative side," Lust says.
Lust is also proposing a bill maintaining continuity between the executive board and the E-board after legislative sessions.
