Driving on the roads at night with bright head lights in the eyes of drivers can be downright aggravating as well as dangerous. Legislators tossed out House Bill 54 - which revises circumstances when head lamps must be dimmed.
Senator Mike Vehle (Valley) of Mitchell once favored House Bill 54 but now voted against it. He says South Dakota doesn't need this law.
"Sometimes I know what I do when I look through a house (bill) something comes out of committee and I look and see who voted for It who voted against it and I kind of know where people lie and I say boy that's out of character and then I'll go and visit with them. I had a discussion with a constituent over the weekend and he said this state has gotten along a long time without this and it's common courtesy. And generally in this state we have common courtesy," Vehle says
The state house killed the legislation with sixteen members voting against it.
