On today's edition of Dakota Midday, host Paul Guggenheimer welcomed State Rep. Betty Olson from Prairie City who is sponsoring a bill that allows South Dakotans to kill a mountain lion on their land without a license. Then Paul spoke with Jeff Nicholas, President of the non-profit organization that runs the Surf Ballroom in Clear Lake, Iowa where Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and The Big Bopper performed their final concert before dying in a plane crash fifty years ago today. We then heard part of an interview Paul did with the legendary Bobby Vee who took over for Holly at the next scheduled tour on the ill fated Winter Dance Party Tour in Moorhead, Minnesota.
