This edition of Food for Thought features Patrick Hicks, author of Finding The Gossamer, published by Salmon Poetry. Patrick Hicks is Writer-in-Residence at Augustana College in Sioux Falls. Author of several chapbooks and a work of nonfiction, his writing has appeared in international publications, including The Utne Reader and Commonweal. Later in the hour, we'll speak with Lydia Whirlwind Soldier, author of the poetry book Memory Songs, published by The Center for Western Studies. A Sicangu Lakota and enrolled member of the Rosebud Sioux Tribe, Lydia is a poet, business owner, educator, and recognized craftswoman. This edition of Food for Thought covers the topics of poetry and Lakota culture.
