Pat Boyd represented South Dakotans for the Arts at the annual national Arts Advocacy Day in Washington DC a week ago. Arts Advocacy Day is organized by Americans for the Arts and cosponsored this year by 87 national organizations, including South Dakotans for the Arts, representing thousands of arts, culture, business, civic and education organizations and individuals nationwide.
Boyd was among 500 participants meeting in Washington and making visits to Congressional delegations on Capitol Hill. She met with Senator Tim Johnson and Representative Kristi Noem as well their staffs who are assigned to arts and education issues, and with Senator Thune's Legislative Aide for Education and the Arts.
