Last summer, a Rapid City woman started collecting unsold produce from farmers markets and taking it to organizations that distribute food to the poor. This summer, the Food Independence Program has expanded to include a paid employee and support from state and federal funds. For today’s Dakota Digest, SDPB’s Victoria Wicks talks with organizers to find out what they have planned for next summer.
